NVIDIA launches SimReady Central, a free library of 2,000+ simulation-ready OpenUSD assets on Hugging Face

A library of more than 2,000 simulation-ready OpenUSD 3D assets (robot arms, grippers, warehouse equipment, racks, cooling infrastructure) is now available free and ungated as datasets on Hugging Face. Assets are validated against SimReady Foundation profiles. OEMs (Vertiv, Comau, FANUC, Franka Robotics, Robotiq, Standard Bots, Universal Robots, Palatial, LG Electronics, ForgeCAD) contribute assets via a submission skill. NVIDIA USD Search powers natural-language search, and Hugging Face has integrated USD Search into its platform search.

What happened

NVIDIA, with Hugging Face, has released SimReady Central: more than 2,000 3D assets in the OpenUSD format (robot arms, grippers, warehouse equipment, racks, cooling kit), free and ungated as datasets on Hugging Face. The assets are checked against SimReady Foundation profiles, and NVIDIA USD Search provides natural-language search, which Hugging Face has added to its platform search. Ten named manufacturers, including FANUC, Universal Robots and Vertiv, contribute assets through a submission process. The article gives no dates for further additions and no figures on how many assets come from the manufacturers themselves.

02

Why it matters

Robotics and digital-twin developers get a free starting set of models that already carry collision geometry, mass and friction, which are tedious to prepare by hand. That could save setup time for teams using NVIDIA's simulation tools such as Isaac Sim. The audience is narrow, though: it mostly helps people already in NVIDIA's OpenUSD ecosystem, and it also draws more developers to that ecosystem. It changes little for general AI users, and the real benefit depends on asset quality and licence terms, neither of which is covered here.

03

What is noise

Claims that manufacturers will reach developers and that customers will "simulate and decide faster" are promotional and unmeasured. "Validated" means checked against NVIDIA-aligned profiles, not proven accurate against real hardware. The extraction wrongly lists OpenAI and GPT-6 Astra, which are not in the article, and the evidence link is truncated, so treat the entity list with caution.

Watch next

  1. 01Download counts and community contributions on the Hugging Face datasets over the next 3 months, and whether the library grows well beyond 2,000 assets.
  2. 02Whether the assets are actually usable outside NVIDIA tools: independent reports of them working in other simulators, plus the licence terms for commercial use.
  3. 03Evidence that manufacturers keep submitting and updating assets, such as new releases from FANUC, Universal Robots or Franka, or further OEMs joining.
